Menstruation and menopausal problems
Acupuncture has been proven effective in relieving Dysmenorrhoea, the lower abdomen and back pain experienced by women before or during menstruation every month. Acupuncture can be started a week before the date of periods, and continued till the end of menstruation. The treatment is given for two to three menstrual cycles.
Acupuncture also helps in dealing with hormonal changes before menstruation, which leads to annoying symptoms such as anger outbursts, mood swings, water retention and swelling, pain in the breasts, and mid-cycle ovulation pain.

Issues related to menopause such as irregular menses, hot flushes, depression, are all successfully treated with a combination of acupuncture and colour therapy. It is said that violet colour at scalp acupuncture points reduces hot flushes.

After ruling out any structural abnormalities in the reproductive organs, the couples are treated simultaneously for a couple of months on acupuncture. Low sperm count can be effectively tacked through acupuncture. Acupuncture is also said to improve frigidity and sexual performance. In fact, there have been studies indicating that acupuncture can boost success rate of IVF (In Vitro Fertilization) treatment by 65 percent.
