Ayurveda is now much more than strong smelling oils and bitter powders. There is a mouth watering surprise for biscuit lovers (especially meant for kids) that ayurvedic biscuits are being introduced into the market. The “Chavana” biscuits that are said to contain the goodness of Chyavanprash was recently launched in Coimbatore Arya Vaidya Pharmacy.
Mr.K.P.Venugopal, Senior Manager, Arya Vaidya Pharmacy stated that as Children are hesitant of having Chyavanprash due to its taste, and are thus missing out the goodness, the Chavana biscuits can now easily replace it. This was first introduced in Kerala a couple of months ago and is already a big success (particularly among children and elderly). Approximately 1500 cases of these biscuits are said to be sold per day.
According to Mr.Venugopal, Chyvanprash is the oldest Ayurvedic preparation and was believed to be gifted to mankind by Lord Brahma and was prepared by Chavana Maharishi. It is a general health tonic used by people of all age groups and sexes. He also said that “Chavana” is the only biscuit in the market that contains Vitamin C.
The Arya Vaidya Pharmacy is now trying to bring Brahmi and Ashwagandha biscuits too into the market. While Ashwagandha helps in enhancing stamina and immunity, Brahmi helps in boosting memory along with several other benefits.
