Bhadrasana (The Gracious Posture)

The Sanskrit word Bhadra refers to gracious or auspicious. Bhadrasana Gracious Posture) is a simple posture that is considered as destroyer of diseases.

DESCRIPTION

  1. Sit in Vajrasana posture.
  2. Keep the knees as wide apart as possible such that the soles of the feet should support the buttock.
  3. Keeping the spine and neck erect, grasp the big toes with hands from the back.
  4. Close the eyes and concentrate on breathing.  Hold on for few seconds and return to the original position.

BENEFITS

This is an effective posture that prevent prostrate enlargement, helps in toning up the genital organs, provides relief from sciatica and strengthens the muscles of the legs. This Asana is said to ease child birth when performed by pregnant women and also keeps the Uro- genital system in good condition.
