Core Power Yoga is a dynamic yoga exercise that is mentally and physically challenging, which helps in connecting to one’s inner power, when practiced continuously in a heated environment. In other words, it is a vinyasa type of yoga, with a unique program, focusing on core strength, flow and balance which helps build a solid practice, based on one’s spirits and strength.

The term “Core Power Yoga” was referred by an Ashtanga Yoga teacher, Beryl Bender Berch, and was introduced to the west through the followers of Sri. Pattabhi Jois. Hence, Core Power Yoga can also be referred to as the “western translation” of the Indian Ashtanga Yoga, which detoxifies, stimulates and heals the mind and body through intention and balance.

The “Core Power yoga” basically strengthens the back and abdominal muscles, and includes poses of Vinyasa power yoga which focuses on abs-toning, through various muscle toning moves. The core power yoga sessions are performed in a heated room, and comprise of various cardio-vascular exercises which develop stamina, flexibility, and concentration and relieves stress and toxins.

Core Power Yoga practice also requires executing various yoga poses in a fast paced manner. Certain poses are even held longer than the usual five breaths. Such practices help in developing deep concentration, and physical endurance.
