Tired of dealing with everyday hustle-bustles of life?? Here are a few ways to keep yourself relaxed, by creating a spa in your own home, for instance!
All you need is your own private space, which you could turn to a makeshift spa. A bath tub would be an added advantage.
Get your choice of essential oils, a bottle of olive oil, sweet almond oils, herbal shampoos, and a nourishing moisturizer. Also, you could arrange for a soft music that would melt away stress. If possible, a few flowers, aromatic candles (lavender or lemon) or diffusers would make the environment perfect.
Begin your treatment with a body scrub. This helps in exfoliation, and gives a baby-soft skin. A store-bought herbal scrub could be used for this purpose. Else, you could make your own by adding some salt to body oil or sugar and lemon juice with body oil.
After washing the scrub, follow it up with an oil massage, for which you could blend together a few drops of essential oil to regular body oil, to bring out an aromatic blend.
The bath tub could be filled with warm water (warm water helps relax muscles) to which a few drops of essential oil, rose petals, a cup of milk is added. Only 4 to 6 drops of essential oil need to be added to the bath water, or bath oil or cream. Any essential oil such as chamomile, lavender, ylang-ylang and niaouli, are all considered relaxing and soothing. As for energizing and revitalizing, you could consider rosemany, eucalyptus, peppermint, and juniper essential oils.
Remain in the bath for 10 to 15 minutes and relax.
After having a gentle shower, pat-dry and use a nourishing moisturizer.
The essential oils are basically, volatile, concentrated oils that are extracted from plants. They prove beneficial when used in the right proportions and in the right manner. Pure essential oils need to be diluted with olive or almond oil or such base carrier oils. Essential oils help in regulating activities of blood capillaries and restore vitality to tissues. In the process the skin is also detoxified and rejuvenated.
