Coriander (Coriandrum Sativum) is an ancient herb, that has been in cultivation and use for more than 3500 years now. It is a native of South West Asia and North Africa, but belongs to the carrot family.
All Parts of the plant, including roots, leaves, seeds and stem carry medicinal value. The healing property of coriander is mainly due to the presence of phytonutrients and flavonoids such as rhamnetin, quercitin, and epigenin. Coriander also contains phenolic acid compounds such as chlorogenic acid and caffeic, which are a part of anti-oxidant team and boost health.
The seeds are powerful and effective in lowering cholesterols and are beneficial in treating excess menstruation. The oil extracted from the seeds is used in treating bacterial and fungal infections. The decoction from the seeds, act as stimulants for kidneys, while external application of the decoction, helps in treating conjunctivitis.
The juice extracted from the leaves, are used in treating digestive disorders, such as dysentery and indigestion and also in treating piles.
The Chinese use fresh leaves to treat food poisoning caused by decaying matter. The Journal of Agriculture and Food Chemistry, June 2004 edition, mentioned that a research revealed that coriander contains an anti-bacterial compound, named dodecenal, making it a safe and natural means for fighting the deadly bacteria which could otherwise lead to diseases such as typhoid, gastro-ailments, and Salmonella.

1pl let me know that does taking of corinder effects ones memory i.e a person who takes coriander in bulk looses his memory gradually pl reply i will be very grateful. thanks
