Health Benefits of Green Tea

The health benefits of tea consumption have been strongly backed by various studies across the world.

Green tea has been for long, proven to be beneficial in preventing bad cholesterol, atherosclerosis, cancer, liver diseases, diabetes, halitosis, and cognitive impairment.

Further, recent researches state that all kinds of tea contain polyphenols, rich in their anti-oxidant properties. In-fact, tea is considered a better anti-oxidant than many vegetables and fruits. Studies confirm that when consumed regularly, these polyphenols present in tea reduces the risk of ovarian, skin, gastric and oesophageal cancers, apart from preventing blood clots.

Experts, in-fact, state that consuming about three cups of green tea a day, helps in losing weight as well. Research points out that the Catechin present in tea made of fresh green leaves, has strong acid neutralizing and anti-bacterial properties. Hence experts recommend a switch over from regular tea brand to fresh green tea.

However, the tea that is prepared by boiling with sugar and milk could possibly kill many such properties, and tea is said to be best consumed with lemon and honey.
