Integral Yoga, also referred to as “Purna Yoga” or “Supramental Yoga”, has reference to Sri Aurobindo’s teachings about the union of all parts of the being with the divine, and the transformation of all harsh elements into a peaceful state of higher existence.

Integral yoga is the yoga of fusion, which intends to unite the paths of Bhakti, Jnana and Karma, just as explained in the “Bhagavad Gita”, the sacred book of Hinduism. However, it is also considered as a synthesis of western and eastern approaches to spirituality. The ultimate goal of Integral yoga is the transmutation of the entire nature of one’s being. Integral yoga is a two-fold yoga; spiritual realization of God and the Enlightenment, through which a complete transformation of the outer and inner nature occurs.

Integral Yoga also accepts the cosmic existence and considers it to be a reality. As the objective of Integral yoga is to enter a state of Divine consciousness, which requires surrender of mortal body, mind and life to the higher consciousness, it is difficult for mortal human being to surpass his own self and mind to a supramental consciousness. Hence only those who can accept such a call are recommended to enter this yoga.
