Iyengar Yoga may help patients with breast cancer

A study conducted at the Washington State University has revealed that Iyengar yoga, if practiced by breast cancer patients, may help in further boosting immunity.

Iyengar yoga, is a particular form of yoga that includes all factors of physical fitness and concentrates on body alignment and mental relaxation.

In classes that were conducted for beginners, which also included breast cancer patients, twice every week for eight consecutive weeks, researchers discovered changes in the response of the immune cells among the breast cancer patients, which indicates the benefits received by the immune system through meditative practices and physical activities.

These findings are likely to be presented at the 120th Annual meeting of the American Physiological Society, Washington.
