It is said that with arrival of monsoons, the tourist resorts and Ayurvedic spas in Kerala, are all set to welcome their visitors with rejuvenating health packages.

Although, Ayurveda has made its way into India centuries ago, it is only during the recent past, that Kerala’s tourism industry has been booming with its Ayurvedic spas and resorts, particularly, during the months from June to August.

Ayurvedic experts suggest monsoon to be the best season for treatments, as the air remains free of dust, and the cool weather helps open the pores of the body, making it more receptive to treatments with herbal oils and other ayurvedic medicines.

In Ayurveda, the treatment is not given to the affected part alone, but to the individual as a whole, as it is one of the natural ways for refreshment and detoxification, thereby making way for good health.

A physician at the Somatheeram Ayurvedic Resort, Kovalam, C.J. NAveen, while mentioning that they are all geared up for the monsoon rush, added “We cater to tourists who come specially for treatment and not just for sightseeing. For those who have a time constraint, we get their medical files early and study their problems in detail even before they arrive. So the treatment protocols are ready when they come here.”

Numerous people these days are seen turning to Ayurveda for skin problems, stress related issues and joint pains.
