Meditation – an exercise for the brain

Researchers say that meditation engages the brain. The specific areas in the brain that are responsible for memory, attention and decision making usually begin eroding during early 20s. Researchers at Harvard reveal that this process can be arrested by making space for chanting the Om mantra every week.

This time the advice is not from yoga experts, but by Havard researchers. The MRI scans of the brains of regular meditators and non-meditators have clearly indicated that, the part of the brain that control these smarts-related process, were found to be thicker in meditators than in non-medtators.
