Though the terms Obesity and Over Weight may imply the same meaning, they are actually different when considered separately. A person is said to be over weight when his or her body weight is in excess to the normal standard weight than one should posses for their height. This mathematical calculation, calculated on the basis of height and weight of a person is referred to as Body Mass Index (BMI). A person whose BMI lies between 25 to 30 is considered to be overweight, while a person with a BMI of more than 30 is considered to be obese. Excess deposit of fat in the body leads to obesity.
People with Obesity are more prone to high blood pressure, stroke, heart diseases, type-2 diabetes and certain kinds of cancers. As prevention is better than cure, it will do good if people are aware about the root causes of obesity and take measures to keep their body weight under control, thereby preventing such life threatening diseases.
Intuitive Ayurvedic treatments help in controlling obesity in the most natural way. As explained in Ayurveda, the main cause that lead to obesity is an inactive lifestyle and dietary practices, i.e., when a person does not exert himself physically or does not exercise, has a bad diet and lifestyle that increases Kapha (body fat) and consumes excess of sweetened foods, his chances of being overweight are very high.
