Remedies for Prostate Enlargement

Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia (BPH) can be controlled by balancing the vata dosha. This can be achieved by use of the following herbal preparations.

  • Equal proportions of Ashwagandha (Wthania Somnifera), Gokushura (Tribulis Terrestris) and Shatavari (Asparagus Racemosa) can be consumed mixing with warm water thrice a day.

On the fourth day castor oil (six teaspoons) can be consumed which will have a laxative effect and balances the vata in the body. This process can be done once in every three months. But during this process, care should be taken to eat lightly and drink only warm water for a week after the process is done.
  • Punarnava¬Ě can be mixed with warm water or ghee and half teaspoon can be consumed anytime.
  • Equal proportions of Gokshura (Tribulus terrestris) and Amalaki(Emblica Officinalis) can be mixed with a pinch of cardamom powder and saffron. One teaspoon of this mixture can be mixed with rose water or warm water and consumed thrice a day.
  • Equal parts of Guggul (Commiphora mukul) and Shilajit (Asphaltum) mixed with honey and one teaspoon of the mixture can be consumed twice a day.
  • Equal parts of Shatavari (Asparagus racemosa), Amalaki (Emblica Officinalis), Gokshura (Tribulis Terrestris) and turmeric (Curcuma longa) can be blended and a teaspoon can be mixed with warm milk and honey and consumed at bed time.
