[tag]Ayurveda[/tag] and [tag]Yoga[/tag] are considered as sisters of [tag]Vedic science[/tag], and have been united since ancient times for healing the mind, body and soul. While Ayurveda deals with [tag]body health[/tag], Yoga purifies the mind and soul, while practically they embrace and complement each other. A combination of yoga and Ayurveda, as they are mutually supportive of each other, will help in rejuvenating, cleansing and healing various disorders in the body.

Both Ayurveda and Yoga are vital for maintaining a healthy body for fulfillment of Dharma (Duty), Kama (Desire), Artha (wealth) and Moksha (liveration). Also both recognize that a perfect balance of dhatus (tissues), doshas (humors) and mala (toxins) are essential for good health.
Both Ayurveda and Yoga share the same physiology and anatomy which consists of five body coverings, the kundalini shakti (energy), seven main chakras ([tag]energy centres[/tag]) and 72,000 nadis (Subtle channels).
Both Yoga and Ayurveda recommends the use of herbs, diet, Asanas, meditation, Pranayama, prayer, astrology etc for healing of the body. Both Yoga and Ayurveda believe that a healthy body is essential for a healthy spiritual and emotional well-being.
Both Ayurveda and Yoga have a common view on certain psychological aspects. Ayurveda all the main philosophical (including Patanjali [tag]Yoga Sutra[/tag]) and spiritual paths and both are of the opinion that the mind body and soul are interlinked to each other and concenctrating on all the three factors is the only way to alleviate diseases from the root.
Both Ayurveda and Yoga follow methods of detoxification of the body through natural ways of elimination. While Ayurveda depends on Panchakarma Therapy for this purpose, Yoga depends on Shat Karma.
