As the average life occupancy of individuals today is on the higher side, diseases associated with old age, such as Alzheimer’s is also on the increase.
With no definite mode of treatment and medication, Alzheimer’s is tough to be handled.
Studies carried out at University of California revealed that the main reason behind the fact that Alzhemeir’s is much lower in India than in the United States, is due to the fact that Indian cuisine makes use of turmeric.
Curcumin, a powerful substance present in turmeric, protects the brain from damage which could otherwise lead to Alzheimer’s.
Another study conducted by prominent researcher Bharat Aggarwal on the medicinal effect of turmeric, where he experimented sprinkling turmeric on Cancerous cells, revealed that turmeric, apart from curbing replication of cancer cells, also reduced inflammation.
It was this anti-inflammatory property found in turmeric, which led the researchers to experiment on the brain cells of rats, which led to the discovery that Curcumin prevents Alzheimer’s!!
