[tag]Vibrational meditation[/tag], in other words called [tag]sound meditation[/tag], is a technique in which a word or sound is repeated, considering the sound as a focal point. In the process of concentration on the sound vibrations, stress is relieved.

This is done either by standing with feet kept apart at shoulder-width levels, or sitting or lying down in a comfortable position with arms placed at either sides or on the hips. Before beginning the meditation, a few deep breaths are taken. The word chosen should alternate consonants and vowels like in “[tag]serenity[/tag]”. The word or the phrase chosen need not necessarily have to be spiritual. It can be anything that makes one feel good when said aloud. The word is then repeated or chanted focusing only on the word. The sound of the word actually gives a feel of vibration through the body. The vibration of the word resonates from the abdomen towards the hand and feet. The muscles should be kept relaxed while chanting the word.

The sound vibrations produced during Vibrational meditation is also found to have profound positive impact on the body in healing various health conditions.
